Janet started her career in the late seventies and has worked in all different types of offices for most of that time. She started at the State of Oregon securing several promotions for the years she was employed there. She married in 1982 and moved to Southern California. There she worked for Vyline Corporation in Long Beach for the two years she lived there, advancing to office manager.
She moved to Eugene in 1984 and worked for the office that supported 15 Wendy’s restaurants. She returned to Salem in 1988 she took a break from her career to raise two children. Janet started working for the private Christian school her boys attended in 1997, first as a teacher’s assistant and ending as the office manager, being in charge of all the finances for two campuses. She took a small break after that position and did some work for Salem/Keizer School District as a substitute instructional assistant.
The position for office manager at Empowering Choices opened up in July, 2020. This position is perfect as it still allows for time to be grandma! Janet loves that position. Her hobbies include gardening (she lives in 2 1/2 acres so there is a lot of dirt to play in!), walking and crocheting. Of these hobbies, she loves crocheting the most. She recently acquired a display at a local resale store to sell her crochet creations.
